AI for kids and families, built by parents and locked safe-for-work

Mudpuppy is AI for kids and families, built by parents who wanted these tools for their own children. It runs on the same platform as its grown-up sister sites but ships only the family surfaces, and everything is locked safe-for-work at build time. There is no setting to find and no switch a child can flip. There are no ads or trackers.

The homepage is organized around who a kid wants to be. Coder is the central track: a child says what to make and a real coding agent on the family computer builds it, on the parent's own plan. Artist paints pictures and videos and builds a cartoon self that moves. Influencer makes a character with a voice and puts on a show. Genius opens real lessons with the education partner. Adventurer picks a quest, makes one in a click, and battles in the Card Arena. Each track is a numbered path of big picture tiles with a spoken guide.

The family tools sit underneath. The AI Companion Device is a ~$45 screen-light buddy with Kids Mode and a parental lock. Little Brother is a household guardian that watches the house, remembers the day and calls the family each evening. Family Recipes finds kid-friendly meals verified against real sources. The site is operated by The Pragmatist Foundation.

What you can do

How it works

  1. A parent creates the account. Everything a child makes is saved there.
  2. Pick a track on the homepage and let the mascot read the steps aloud.
  3. Set up the family tools you want: the device, Little Brother, Family Recipes and the coding workshop.
  4. Check in from the parent's account to see what was made and adjust the controls.

Frequently asked questions

Is Mudpuppy safe for children?

The site is locked safe-for-work at build time and cannot be switched off on this domain. Only family surfaces ship here; everything else does not exist on the site. There are no ads or trackers.

Can my child use it without reading?

Yes. Each track is a path of big picture tiles with a speaker button, the mascot greets and explains out loud, and the main tools start with a microphone button and picture chips.

What is the Coder track?

Vibe coding for kids. The child talks to a real coding agent, Claude Code on the family computer, through a voice and picture interface. It runs on the parent's own Claude plan and nothing a kid can build is capped.

What does a parent control?

The account and its tokens, the parental lock, the companion personality on the device, who Little Brother calls, the coding workshop setup, and the grown-up controls inside each tool.

Who operates the site?

The Pragmatist Foundation, which also runs the consumer and professional sister sites on the same platform. Contact is partners@pragmatistfoundation.com. The site itself is built and maintained by parents for their own children first.
